    Hi all

Will be in Rouen this thursday and can easily pop in at the camp site and ask questions, try to negotiate camp fire, take pics (of nudes) etc.
Let me know if that helps

      Hi Marc

If it’s not too much trouble, I don’t think it would do any harm to have a look? Camp fire would be nice to keep the autumn chill away on an evening, but not essential. It would be good to be able to use BBq’s as we need some central point to bring everyone together. I do have an old washing machine drum that we could fill with charcoal and sit around.

Looking forward to seeing you again.

      Cheers Mick

It would be very kind of you to do a ‘reconnaissance’, but …

prendre des photos (des culs nus)…

Which bare backsides? If it’s you on a photocopier, perhaps not ….. !!

Spearheading down in Lyons la ForĂȘt today looked like this/ en Ă©claireur Ă  Lyons la ForĂȘt cet aprĂšs midi, cela donne çà :

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1PJC-edJU8

A beautiful village indeed – well done Mick! / un charmant village, bien jouĂ© Mick!

View of the camp site from the entrance/vue du camping depuis l’entrĂ©e

Pool and TV room that can shelter up to 20-max 25 people should it rain / la salle de billiard/tĂ©lĂ© pouvant accueillir jusqu’Ă  20-max25 personnes s’il venait Ă  pleuvoir

And now for the practical aspects/ et les détails pratiques :

The proposal is 2 landies per 100M2 lot – I have asked that adjacent lots are made available to us, this no problem as it is end of season anyway.

Price is 6,80€ per person per night – includes electricity. This is the group (> 10 pax) tariff.

BBQ is fine – we need to bring our hardware – whilst open camp fire is a definite no as it is illegal.

The landlady will appreciate to receive a confirmation by mail/phone – say a week before – of number of cars and people for each night as I presume some of you will arrive before the saturday. I left my details and am happy to do that.
I mentioned that to date, there are 10 planned vehicles

Finally, does anyone have road books indications locally and so we could have a session like that on saturday PM?

Wonderful work Marc, well done and many thanks.

The road-book is a great idea-can anyone get in touch with a local Land Rover club for advice?

            A bientĂŽt – a Lyons -la-ForĂȘt!

            #3339

            😆 beau travail marc 😉

                Hi Marc

                Thanks for the rece.

I will speak with those not on this forum before we travel and post full details on here of exactly who is hoping to get to the campsite and when they will be arriving. At present all the UK vehicles are planning to meet in Calais Thursday morning and then will heading at a leisurely pace to Lyon la foret. We will no doubt have a good look at the village the first evening and then on Friday Louise and I plan to head into Rouen for the day.

Friday evening, we have an idea to cook up some Traditional English food to show how good food/beer should taste. 😉 Probably bring some fine English cheese, Best Bitter, and a few other world renowned English delicacies, such as mushy peas, etc. Just an idea at present.

Saturday, a trip into the countryside would great. I did notice the words “la Chasse” in michelj’s post. Can I bring my big rifle? Can we get enough BBq’s to spit roast a deer? Thought we would try and have BBq on the evening. “burnt Chicken drumstick. anyone?”

Sunday is market day, if I recall correctly? So into the market, say our goodbyes and set off home. 🙁

This is just out initial thoughts.

                Cheers Mick

                  Mick et al
Every chance I could get a firkin (9 gallons) of exceedingly good yorkshire ale for around ÂŁ1 per pint.
Could also bring the “tailgate arms” (sans tailgate of course) ie beer hand pump.

Any takers or interest in this (to cover purchase costs) ?

(Esther and I will pass on the meat content of BBQs)
                  Alex
