I come from looking for fuel to go to Normandy : no unleaded 95 or 98 around Poitiers , I just got 25€ , enough for 100 kms and I have to drive 1000 kms to meet you . Also , I saw yesterday a tv report about fuel shortage in Les Andelys , it is just near Lyons ! has someone informations about fuel disponibility in Normandy ?
Anyway this week-end looks to be jeopardized for me !

Friday night . 22.50 pm . I planed to drive at this time . no answer after this last post . no petrol in the town . do’nt want to “galère” in Le Mans or Alençon with the low gauge , asking for a liter for my 6 pots . next time , we could organise this meeting in my town .. Poitiers . not too bad . futuroscope . fromage de chèvre . and a lot of camping sites . the Dormobile is still ready in the garage . thank you to forgive my absence

Mince Marc , je decouvre ton message , je ne suis plus seul sur terre , tu es encore chez toi , as tu un plein pour retrouver les autres ? vaiment je ne me vois pas partir avec 500 bornes à faire et m’arrèter dans chaque ville ou village pour voir s’il reste quelques litres de benzine , ils ont dit qu’ils approvisionnaient en priorité le stations d’autoroute mais monter en Normandie par l’autoroute ne m’interresse pas , pour moi , c’était la 10 jusqu’à Chartres , puis Dreux , longer l’Eure puis traverser la Seine avec des noms de ville qui font rèver : Anet , La Chaussée d’Ivry , Pacy sur Eure , St Aubin sur Gaillon , les Andelys (où y’a pas d’essence) , c’est quand même autre chose que l’autoroute et c’est pour ça qu’on roule en anciennes

alors je sais pas qui parviendra la bas les Anglais ont peu de route , surtout s’ils debarquent à Caen , pour les Suisses , c’est plus dûr d’autant que j’aurais vraiment aimé rencontrer Ant que j’ai déja vu au Billing….. il y a quelques années avec sa Dor authentique , avec la douche derrière, même qu’il projettais deja de passer au 110 , et que son chien m’interresse d’autant que mon frère vit au Zimbabwe et qu’il a des chiens de cette race , des chasseurs de lions qui les protègent en ce moment où la sécurité est faible dans ce pays … je mets ici une photo des quelques petits qu’il s ont eu recemment , pas des bêtes de concours comme celui d’Antony mais des chiens trop sympas

😀 nous sommes bien rentrés et j’espere que nos amis font bonne route, oui marc un moment magique,

je pars en bretagne aujourd’hui et je mettrai mes photos en rentrant samedi/dimanche

Hi all

Louise, William and I all had a fantastic few days and wish it had been longer. Thank you to everyone for making it what it was and for bringing all that lovely grub and booze.

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s photos, because all the ones I took are rubbish! Luckily Louise took some and I when I have sorted them, I will post them in the trip report section.

Already looking forward to next years trips.

Hi Guys – Just back – we cheated and spent last night in a nice warm hotel just S of Paris – really enjoyed the Meeting – great to put faces to names …. Will sort out the photos soon …Glad you got back safely – so did we – thank goodness for long-range tanks! Sorry to hear about blow-outs – you should have thought Michelin!!!

Salut Les Gars- on vient de rentrer – nous avons triché et passé hier soir bien au chaud dans un hotel! Merci a tous – desolé que Mr Jones ne pourrait pas être de la partie – mais a la prochaine – je me souviens de toi au Billing – et les Rhodesiens sont les vrais et superbes!

Helen and I had a fantastic time!
I returned home without any problems. I found myself wishing I could stay in France for a little longer. These wishes were made stronger when I got off the ferry and into the ridiculous traffic jams of ‘good old’ England.
Saturday night was one to remember. I struggled to speak French, some of the French struggled to speak English, but as the wine flowed and the food was passed around, it all got a lot easier!
I have to say that accordion music and I don’t get on, but Alex’s pleasant tunes, expertly played, just seemed right and made me forget about the cold, and the rain, and the mud (for a while)
I look forward to returning, soon!

Helen et moi avons eu un temps fantastique!
Je rentrai chez moi sans aucun problème. Je me suis retrouvé souhaitant que je pouvais rester en France pour un peu plus longtemps. Ces souhaits ont été encore renforcée lorsque je suis descendu du ferry et dans les embouteillages ridicule de «bon vieux temps ‘Angleterre.
samedi soir a été un moment inoubliable. J’ai eu du mal à parler français, quelques-uns des Français se sont efforcés de parler anglais, mais comme le vin coulait et la nourriture était passé autour, tout cela a beaucoup plus facile!
Je dois dire que la musique d’accordéon et je ne m’entends pas, mais agréable airs d’Alex, joué habilement, tout semblait bien et m’a fait oublier le froid et la pluie et la boue (pour un temps)
J’ai hâte de revenir, bientôt!
