I have a feeling that outstanding action includes letting “someone” who was kind enough to volunteer to inform the campsite, names and numbers and times of arrival. Am I right and who volunteered?
thanks
AlexSeptember 21, 2010 at 8:22 am #3362Yes – it was Marc
(viewtopic.php?f=33&t=681&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60#p2736 )He suggested we confirm about a week before arrival.

Sorry Mick. I offered Michel an old badge of mine which he has accepted, then he got all poetic and taxed my French to the limit! Now Gratta would like one too, so if you could bring that it would be great!
Michel.j et Gratta – Mick n’a rien compris (pas étonnant avec la poesie de Michel!) alors je l’ai donné la version abregée, et demandait qu’íl amméne un 2éme badge pour Bertrand!
Well, I wouldn’t mind getting one of these badge either. Is this at all possible? 😛

September 21, 2010 at 8:46 pm #3366Salut Marc
Salutations
TonyMick -The badge I have promised to Michel.J (DOC in bronze: is unique – I think?) – can you bring 2x Series 2 club brass radiator grille badges? ( Gratta & Marc78)
September 21, 2010 at 9:24 pm #3367Hi all
I will contact the Series 2 Club shop and get the badges sent to me in time to bring them with me. Anybody else want anything bringing?
Louise, William and I will be sleeping on the ‘Aire de Service’ in Calais Wednesday night as we do not land in France until 3.15am Thursday morning, French time. The plan is then to take a leisurely drive to Lyons la Foret, shopping on the way.
Looking forward to good food, good wine and good company.
Mick
September 21, 2010 at 9:32 pm #3368Mick, thanks for that – if you need advance funding, send me account details.
good wine
Don’t worry – I’ll bring this from Switzerland! However, I note that Alex,B generously offered to bring some Dark Sheep type liquid and none of you miserable illegitimate northern types supported him – I should be pleased to do so – but could only manage 8 – 10 pints!
Cheers
TSeptember 21, 2010 at 11:10 pm #3369Hi Tony
You certainly know who your friends are!!!! I have not responded to Alex’s offer because I have not yet had chance to discuss it with everyone. The feeling so far is that we should all share the burden and all bring something local to where we live. Also, as I broke down again this week (the water pump flange just fell off the pump shaft and the pump is only 6 months old) the question has been raised, if it is wise to put all our eggs in one basket? Also, if sleeping on the ‘Aires de Service’ where do you put a barrel of beer when you go to bed in a Dormobile? Don’t think leaving a barrel outside in the middle of Calais is an option?
Will try and speak with everyone in the next few days and then speak with Alex.
Cheers Mick

September 22, 2010 at 7:18 am #3371where do you put a barrel of beer when you go to bed in a Dormobile?
Always suspected those beautiful roof-racks were just for show!
September 22, 2010 at 8:18 am #3372I’ve never had a barrel and pump and stuff in the Dormobile, done loads in a 110 (pump off step – barrel adjacent) and also the 2a 88 ( pump on tailgate, barrel on floor) – I would go for leaving it on the step, or rigging up something on the from bumper for the pump, and make sure the barel is empty before you go to bed. In calais – it would stay where it was packed – or rolled under and chained and locked
