    Hi all!
Not been on for a few months, have I missed much?
Been trying to find space to work on my ’60 Dormobile. My ’70 Vespa Ape is now on Ebay, so this should hopefully free up spare space, cash and time…. So if anyone fancies a change 😆 ….
Anyhow.. The reason for this post is to ask if anyone knows of someone who makes replacement seat covers for the CA? I’ve been on ‘the Mini scene’ for around 15 years and know there are loads of companies producing quality covers. Does anyone do the same? Don’y really fancy unpicking my covers to use as a pattern, as it would be good to keep the originals. Got chatting to a guy the other day who said he would have a go, but I thought it a bit risky.
Hope someone can help, cheers, Andy. 🙂

Just thought I would carefully remove the covers off the worst seat.
The frame underneath is a bit corroded so the material has rotten in places 🙁 . I guess that being dry- stored for over 20 years must have taken its toll….
The covers don’t actually look TOO difficult to replicate. Has anyone on the forum had a go? Any tips would be appreciated. Found some upholstery leatherette on Ebay and some piping. Also found a book on automotive upholstery. Anyone read it? Do you know if it’s necessary to re-use the original sprung seat backs/ squabs as these seem to be the problem with the rust/ rot. Reckon I could just use 3″ thick foam instead, as modern settees etc aren’t sprung are they? Anyhow….. back to the workshop 🙂

Did anyone actually find new seat covers for the Dormatic Seats?

I have some reasonable covers on mine, but would like new covers

    Thanks in advance

I made new seat covers for my CA, in fabric.

I was very pleased with the results and am now contemplating doing it again, in vinyl.

I bought an old Singer sewing machine off Ebay and dismantled the old covers, for patterns.

    It’s just like floppy woodwork.
