Hello
As I saw the roof vent of my Land Rover Dormobile cracking slowly , I decided to find someone to reproduce it .
There is a factory not fare for my place that make what we call in France ” thermoformage ” with ” Altuglass ” , they built for me a mould in wood ,and I asked first 3 roof vents , the result is very nice , it looks like the original one , same colour , just a little bit stronger because they only have this material in 2,5mm , the original is thiner , it is very well ajusted on the roof . Mine is on the car from 1 year , it operated nicely along our trip this summer .It is the mould that was expensive but I have it now , I can make as much roof vent as I want , I don’t know if it could interest someone in this club , if this roof vent can be fitted on other Dormobile than Land Rover ? the biggest problem would be the transport ? many questions you can help me to find the answer .
If it is easy to find this accessory in England , forget my proposition .Just a look on the result , the first picture show the old and the new one .

December 9, 2008 at 10:43 pm #1996This is to endorse Michel’s initiative : I bought one of the initial run of 3 pieces as my roof vent was broken and needed replacement : it s a very nice and very similar to original piece of work. Now, don’t break yours just for the fun of it, but if you are tired of your existing vent, Michel has the answer!

December 24, 2011 at 8:23 am #2008Hello , nobody on this forum for a long time , are Dormobile in hibernation ?
just few words to tell you that I had a new production of roof vents (5 parts) , because of its success it was out of stock ,
they are made with altuglass , always very well made , like originals , but the manufacturer can make it with polycarbonate , so they would be unbrakable , even if you walk on it but for the moment it’s just an idea , he say it would have the same aspectIt is the opportunity to wish to every Dormobile guy a Good Christmas and a Happy New Year , and hope a meeting in France in 2012 ( or anywhere !)
