    Hi,

I am starting the resoration of a Bedford CA Debonair Dormobile. I inhertited it from my father who bought in when it was 18 months old from the green man garage in London. It is a D reg and has a genuine 58,000 miles unfortunateley it is not running at present.

I intend to restore everything to create an everyday runner and possible show it.

I would appreaciate any advice, links, source of parts etc.

Great to hear of another Dormobile that is to be preserved.

Best advice and access for spares is from club members.

      Join the club.

A photo would be interesting, to see what condition the vehicle is in.

      When did it last run?

What appear to the main items for repair in order to make it go again?

We are using our CA Romany and view it as a running restoration project.

yup, the club have a good source of parts suppliers, and with club membership you can get a discount on the parts. There are some very experienced people in the club who would be happy to help. When you join the club you’ll get a list of all the members, and with their help I’m sure we’ll be able to answer your questions.

      Good luck 🙂

I am restoring a 1966 D-reg Bedford CA Workobus. I have been amazed how much stuff is available on eBay. You should search reguarly on eBay for Bedford CA parts, and define an automatic search that feeds you e-mails when Bedford CA parts are posted for sale.

A source of parts that I have found to be absolutely invaluable is Adrian Bailey Classics, http://www.roverland.eu/. He has been able to supply me with a vast amount of difficult-to-trace parts, from carburettors, to stainless steel exhaust and a multitude of body panels. Highly recommended!

Hi Brian, Adrian is a club member and has helped many members with parts.

Hi. I’m nearing the end of the restoration but there’s one thing I just can’t find: the chrome and rubber trim stip that runs down the side, along the edges of the broad white strip that’s painted on the side of the van.

Can anyone help me locate this strip? I need enough for both sides of the van, i.e. about 4 van lengths in total.

There is a lot of work to do, but I can use her as I work on her. I also own a Rover p4, Triumph spitfire mk 4, Triumph vitesse 1600, and a Wolseley 15/60. I am not to good on the old pc, but I will try to send you updates, regards John

Hi John, I’ve checked but cannot find VLO 670G in the database, however we’ve only been collecting reg marks for the past 5 years so she could have been a club member before this time.

Keep us upto date on progress.

      Regards
      John
