Hi, I own a 1967 VW Split Screen Van, Canterbury Pitt conversion.
I have recently discovered that the pop top on my van is similar to those fitted on early VW bay window vans, I was told that it was dormobile red and white candy stripe. I would like to source some original (new or secondhand) canvas to repair mine.
    Please can anyone help?

    Hi,
My dormobile had some small holes in its canopy. Spoke to Tim at dormobile and he sold me a pack of ten patches to repair it with and some glue. Matched the forty year old canopy perfectly. He can also sell replacement candy canopys if you are so inclined.

    Hope this is of help

    Thank you for your reply.

My canvas has perished along the top edge and I think it would need a piece about 10cm deep to make it good. Below is a picture of my van (you would think the roof was OK!)

Please can you send me contact info for Tim at Dormobile.
    Thanks

Spoke to Tim today sounds like a top guy. Hopefully I can now find someone to actually fit the new/repaired canvas for me!

I know a great deal of time has elapsed! But I still have not got my canvas sorted. Ideally I wouls like some old original canvas to repair mine with but failing that Tim could supply the new stuff he has that is very similar.

My big problem is finding someone to fit it.
My van is being displayed as a fairly original/stock example at the Volksworld Show in a couple of weeks so I don’t think I have time to get it sorted for then, however it is also one of a selected few being displayed at Lavenham in June and it would be fantastic to have it done by then.
      Anyone able to help me?

      Terry
