Locking Petrol Cap for Beford CA Romany

Hi,

I have a regular petrol cap for my 1968 Romany, however while the petrol prices were extortionally high over summer and the van was sitting the front drive somehow all my petrol managed to disappear (And I’m pretty sure it didn’t just leak out!) from my tank, so I am looking into getting a locking petrol cap for it.

Does anyone have one for their CA? I tried a couple of local car supply parts and neither of them could find and order for one that would fit (they wouldn’t take measurements, they said they have to go via car/van model).

I have tried googling to but with no luck. If anyone could point me in the direction of somewhere that might sell a suitable one then I would be very grateful.

I have put a locking petrol cap on my CA.
I must admit that it was a bit tricky finding one.
In fact the main problem is that you might need 2 parts : a collar to put on the filler neck and the cap.
I have bought a cap for CAs (at least it was written on the box) on Ebay but couldn’t put it because the collar was missing so found another one at an autojumble with the collar attached to the cap.
One of the problem I have encountered is that those collar+cap systems can leak when the petrol tank is overfilled espcially when you drive a bit too hard at roundabouts…
