Will someone from the forum buy it?
October 24, 2009 at 1:10 pm #2635I bet it would turn some heads if that was restored, but being the only one I’ve seen in my life, I recon it’s rare, just as the advert points out, and parts would be a nightmare. Lets hope someone restores it though.

November 2, 2009 at 10:51 pm #2641Hi, just a quick hello, to let you all know it was me! I would have told you earlier, but the security on this site is excellent! It’s taken me 2 days to get logged on. The Leyland is safe and tucked away under cover in Yorkshire, a quick inspection has not revealed too many horrors, and given the rarity I feel duty bound to make sure she lives to fight another day. Good job I can weld! Now I would like some help in establishing how rare she is ( yes it is a she!) are there any records of how many were built anywhere? A little amusing anecdote that kept my son and I chuckling on the way back from Poole with the leyland on a trailer behind my Renault Master van, it was quite possibly the fastest it has ever gone or will ever go in the future!
November 3, 2009 at 1:55 am #2642hi martin and welcome good on you i was close to biding on it but i only new about the van a few hours before the end of the auction
perhaps a little bit to soon for me after restoring my van and how far away it was from home for me
if i can help in any way just ask love to see some more photos of the van
best of luck dave glanfieldNovember 3, 2009 at 7:06 pm #2643Martin, congratulations on your purchase, I’m glad to see it go to a good home, and glad you have found us. All records were lost from Dormobile when thet went bust in the early ’90s. However do think this is very rare, possibility one of the last few, and deserves a good home
Keep us informed with progress and pictures.
Regards
JohnNovember 3, 2009 at 7:23 pm #2644Hi Martin, welcome to the forum. Sorry I can’t help you with any information about your van, but I know onw thing, I’ve never seen one before, so I recon it’s rare. Good luck with the restoration. Keep us updated.
