        The French club ’Le Temps de Series’ is organising its well-known annual meeting at the Chateau de Bannegon in Cher – Sept. 16th -18th . All LR series camping conversions are welcome (no matter what engine etc). Modern coil-sprung Dormobiles may be accepted on the camp-site – any Dormobile would be welcome – but would have to camp on the car-park (only 100 metres away – and any of the local tours would have to be made in a series LR – plenty of seats available). Please let us know if you have already registered or plan to do so. My Defender Dormobile is windscreen sticker N0. 1!

            We survived the Swiss meet but it was very difficult for us. The kids are too small for such spartan camping conditions and such long, hot drives (it was only 2.5 hours!). I need some recovery time before I can decide on Bannegon. Maybe the family can come by TGV?

              Hi all

              We were really hoping to get to Bannegon this year, but William will have just started Primary School. Maybe get there next year.

              Will be getting our France fix in October.

                    I’m sorry, Michel, it looks that way.

                    The dates are very bad for those with kids in school in Switzerland (and the UK, it seems).

                    For this reason, if I come, I would come alone without my family.

                    But if I could get 3 days’ leave from my family to spend alone, I wouldn’t at this moment choose to spend 14 hours of that time driving on an Autobahn in a Series 2 Land Rover!

                        Sorry about the thread drift – my fault! Jeremy, are you talking about Normandy or Bannegon here?

                          Yes this is the source of noise which is so loud it drowns out my Land Rover! Unfortunately they sit behind me and not on the bonnet.

                          Each trip is exhausting, but after a while I recover.

                          The Dormbile is washed and dried out, the oils replenished, the grabbing brake and other mysterious things that appear after a trip are repaired. I’m already feeling better.

                          As enthusiasm returns, I haven’t ruled out Bannegon or Normandy this year (there is a school break in October — and I have my Eberspacher this year).

                          ANT you can translate?

                            Oui – voici la source d’un bruit si fort qu’il Ă©touffe le ronronnement du Land ! Malheureusement, ils sont assis derriĂšre moi et pas sur le capot.

                            Chaque voyage est épuisant, je me récupÚre lentement.

                            Actuellement le Dor est lavé et séché, les niveaux complétés, le frein broutant et les autres ennuies mécaniques mystérieux qui apparaissent toujours aprÚs une voyage sont réparé. Je me sent déjà mieux.

                            Avec l’enthousiasme remontant, je n’ais pas complĂštement abandonnĂ©e l’idĂ©e de Bannegon, ni Normandie cette annĂ©e (il y a un vacance scolaire en octobre – et j’ais mon chauffage EberspĂ€cher ce fois).

                                Nous comme dit dans un autre poste nous y serons nous avons décaler nos vacances spécialement pour cela..

                                  tu devrais essayer de les contacter (si tu veux je le fais) car au bureau il ne reste plus personne du TDS “historique” et donc il faut peut-ĂȘtre etre prevoyant 😉
