Hi
If anyone has a stationwagon B post and sill assembly, unlikely perhaps but hey! and even more unlikely both sides, nearside and offside!
Muchly needed, Can’t stess how much, for a 1963 landrover dormie pukka restoration
Kind regards

August 2, 2007 at 5:24 pm #1443thanks for those sources.
Just that in the remote chance that anyone has one, or two! lying around, even if they need welding/attention there is a chance that the restoration budget, currently AWOL, might get RU on the road this year.
In any case, if necessary new from ..ddoks, I might just get them galvanised to stop some poor future owner having to rip RU apart, because most other steel bits will be hot zinc sprayed (bulkhead) or galvanised (Richards chassis etc)
Kind regards

You know what they say, “if you do not ask, you will never get” I have spare pair of B posts outside. They are buried under a load of other bits. I will dig them out tomorrow and let you know the full facts on condition, etc. The only problem is I am Yorkshire and you are in Essex.
Will be in touch tomorrow.

August 4, 2007 at 7:31 pm #1447Hi Paul
Had a look at the B posts. Both B and C posts are rusty, but look easily repairable. The bottom rails are very good except that for some reason they have been cut about 8″ from the front end and these bits are missing. Again these should be easily repairable if you can find a set off a SWB. They came with Barney, as the B posts were completely gone. I was going to use them, but managed to get a better set. If you want them, they are yours, free to a good home. Just keep me in mind if you find an units for a Dormobile or a cheap overdrive.
Let me know

August 4, 2007 at 8:25 pm #1448Hi Mick
Given that that you have in the past posted a prima waterpump x 2 to me FOC and that you won’t be at the series 2 nationals so I can thank you in kind, I’m uncomfortable about a freebie, so will PM you re £ & this.
Whilst what might be a good overdrive is going into RU, I know of no others currently but will keep a look out for these and the units.
Kind regards
Paul

The b post were given to me FOC and we have just sold our house. If you do not take them, they are going to be weighed in with all the other bits that I will never use. So, you would be doing me a favour by taking them as I hate throwing things away.

Well in that case gratefully accepted and I will be happy to collect them.
I will be travelling to the Series 11 International over the weekend of 17th to 19th, so can either arrange detour on the way to pick them up, or if Chris or anyone from Yorkshire has time and room to relay to Kelmarsh then there is beer on offer.
Hope the move goes really well.
Kind regards
Paul
August 16, 2007 at 9:28 pm #1451Hi Paul
I am sorry to say that events have conspired against me this week and I have been unable to get across to Chris’s house with the B posts. They are safe here until we can arrange another way of getting them to you. or You are welcome to collect hem whenever you want.
Cheers Mick
August 16, 2007 at 9:45 pm #1452Dear Mick
No probs
Thanks for trying. I will arrange to pick them up before you move. Will get your contact no. from Chris or someone over the weekend and give you a ring.
Pickles is bringing a set with a shot back end to the International, so should be able to splice a set together, one way or another.
Kind regards
Paul
