I have been contacted by Carol Clegg re a Land Rover dormobile I sold her and her partner Malc a few years ago
Due to unforseen circustances they have not been able to use it and wiss to sell it . Its a 2.6 petrol and I put a new Galv chassic on it etc and it is alledgedly in the same condition that I sold it although I have not seen it.
Any interest pls contact me at eric_wheelhouse@yahoo.co.uk and I will forward any interest to Carol Clegg.
For anyone who remembers me from my time with the club I still have my GMC ,an Airstream plus a Dodge so am still classic motorhoming.
Also into three wheelers Bubble , Berkeley and assorted PembletonsBest Rgds Eric

StefanMarch 31, 2012 at 3:19 pm #4716hello Eric, i asked for more info but got a very vague reply from the lady ,i asked for a price? and more pics? pretty basic . 😯 😯
April 4, 2012 at 7:09 pm #4717I live in edinburgh so that’s why i asked for photos ,surprised at your attitude
so far the people i have met on this forum have been helpfull and considerate…..
would just like to share your commentsHave received a copy of your latest email to Carol
1 If you don,t know what it costs to licence a 2.6 ltrs 1975 vehicle why are you bothering especially if its so important
2 If you need to have a quote for the ripple in the rear wing ,you are in the wrong dept.
3 service history in a vehicle that thas been completely rebuilt ,over many years grow up
4 Are you entering a concours then there is one at Hudderfield which would not win but will cost you 15000
5 If you are serious GO TO LOOK AT IT
6 As previous stated in all correspondence I HAD LAND ROVER DORMOBILES for 25 years and the only better one I saw I owned for 25 years SNU831E although I did hear of a couple better
Sorry to be so anti but either go to look or leave Carol; alone and no more questions .regretfully in good faith I put the message on the Dormobile site as I had many happy years there but did not expect that she would be bothered by so many time wasters
IF you are interested GO to see it and then tell me how many others you have seen better
I have no financial interest in this only hoping a Dormobile finds a good home
Rgds EricApril 6, 2012 at 3:31 pm #4718I think I can hold my head up in the Dormobile Club even now but when you are trying to be helpful and have so many people wasting your time and upsetting Carol the hackles rise .
Mr Hunter was not the only one there are a dozen others ,how many hours I have spent is unbelievable I expected a least geniine interest in The Club
HUNDREDS OF EMAILS PICTURES AND NOT ONE PERSON TO VIEW
Looks like it will be on Ebay or I,ll buy it back and sell it later
Rgds EricApril 6, 2012 at 5:58 pm #4719was sent this by David the owners brother who was very helpfull, he also sent several more pics i asked for ,appreciate every bodys help as a novice it may sound’S daft but unless you ask…also sent the lady a GENUINE note apologising for getting her upset .IF YOU WANT THE PICS WILL SEND THEM VIA E-MAIL TO YOU IF I CAN HELP. 🙂
.Cheers David HUNTER. {COPY BELOW}
Hello David,
I am Malc’s brother and his Land Rover is on my drive.
I have taken some photos of the areas you asked for and a couple of the front seats. The passengers seat has two very small holes in but the drivers has quite a large tear as you may be able to see from the photo. This is how Itcame from Eric and is covered over with a piece of black seat covering. I think the road tax will be about £200 and there is a new fiberglass rain channel that goes over the back door, door mirror and grab handles that fit on the rear crossmember. I am not sure if you know it has got an overdrive and freewheeling hubs. Eric should be able to tell you about the seats and the o/side rear quarter as the vehicle has not been used since Malc has owned it, only to take it for the test. There are quite a few bits of paper and invoices that came from Eric that itemise all the work that has be done. Malc has got a for sale sign in the front window showing £7495.00 but he has not advertised it anywhere yet. Ideally I think a respray would make it look top class and as Eric told Malc he had only seen one better and he owned it! I’m sure Malc would consider the price if you thought you might be interested.
Regards,
David.
