Land rover Dormobile Kitchen unit last ones

Just to say that Dormobile UK are selling the last kitchen(s) off for £275 instead of £575 (inc vat) and wont be having any more made.
There were three, I have bagsied one, I believe, someone is thinking about the one, leaving minimum of one left.

Doesn’t come with the hob/grill, but does come with sink.

At that price – no hesitation. But does this mean the end of Dormobile UK? I sincererly hope not.

Well having talk to Jim they seem to be as busy as ever, and the boss is a Land Rover fan so this might help. (work shop was full of them, 2 Series IIa’s, 1 Series I, 90 50th, 90 heritage so hope they keep Dormobile alive.I think it would have gone years ago if SHB had not got it)

Jim has come to the conclusion that with 1000 dormobiles produced, the number that will surface from now on and that will need / want kitchens doesn’t make it economic to order a load more.

The cost of producing is huge and, I believe, he has had the last 3 or 4 hanging around for too long.

I can understand his point of view.

He is making stuff for “modern” dormobiles and older ones of course, just not manufacturing expensive stuff like kitchens and wardrobes.

The boss has at least one Tickford also!

I think he said the unit were made about 10 years ago (not a 100% sure)
The boss has lots of Land Rovers, they where just the one kicking round after new year when i picked up my unit.
