I’ve fitted the new motor without too many problems other than the fact the wipers park half way across the windscreen. I might be being daft but I can’t see how to get them to park differently. It looks as though the crank on the motor needs to be turned an inch or so round but I don’t think it can because it is on a LH threaded spindle and presumably needs go all the way home. Can anyone reveal to me what it is that I have done wrong?

I didnt think they parked at all, all the bedfords I have driven never do.

They certainly stop in the same place everytime. I spoke to an electrician friend on mine who said the two live terminals on the wiper motor are likely to be ‘go’ and ‘park’.

I have been told there is a nut on the wiper motor that controls where they park. I’m going down to the van next week so I’ll go check. If not I will unplug the ‘Park’ and park it with the switch.

      just move the wiper arms
so thay park in the right place

Of course !! – let them self park, remove the wipers from the spindles and re-set them in the correct position !!!!!

There is always a simpler solution, cheers chaps!

Some motors have a self parking switch. It can be ujusted by a screw on the end of the motor.. |Have you got the arms on in the right place. bob

Cheers Bob, I solved this now but you are correct. Relocating the wiper arms on the spindles didn’t work. It was down to the adjuster on the wiper motor itself.
