Hi to everyone, new member here – we’ve bought a 70 vw dormobile, very pleased with her, but we need to replace both glass sections in the roof as they’re cracked. Not done this before (obviously), can anyone suggest any helpful hints or “how to’s” please?

would you suggest retaining or replacing the seals?

Not too difficult, the rubbers can be sourced from Dormobile , maybe the glass as well.

I changed the rubbers on my landrover a few years ago, and did both window in around two hours, it’s fiddly and hard on the fingers but a DIY job.

I know that Dormobile do not have any glass for the Land Rover roof (are they the same or different?), but do have seals. The glass is the same stuff as used in plant, so any vehicle glass specialist will be able to help you. Take the old glass with you as a pattern. They will probably have the seam as well as it is standard seal as use on most cars in the 70’s. If you ask them nicely, they would even fit them for you.
