    Hello everyone,

Firstly I would like to thank Allan for allowing me to join the club even though I am not yet the owner of a Dormobile.

I have previously owned a Land Rover 109 which I started to look at converting into a camper and then I discovered that such a vehicle already existed thanks to Martin Walter Ltd!

Having sold my Series 3 and then saved up I now have a budget set aside to buy the right vehicle when one comes up for sale (I understand that this may time some time!!)

I have just posted an advert for a 1968 Land Rover that I spotted earlier for sale, sadly this one needs a full renovation and I just don’t have the time to take on such a large project, I would rather pay more for a useable vehicle.

The forum seems to hold a lot of useful information regarding the various models and equipment but I may still need a few pointers when it comes to buying if you don’t mind.

Anyway, my family and I live in South Manchester and I have noticed that quite a few of the rallies are in the North West so I hope to meet up with club members at an event or two over the course of this year.

With kind regards and best wishes,
    Jonathan

    Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to the club. Your story sounds a bit like mine. I didn’t know if I wanted a project or a usable vehicle strait off. In the end, with 2.5 children (now 3) I realised a project was not realistic, not if I wanted to enjoy it with the family anyway and no real shed/workshop to play in. Keep the faith though, they are out there and sometimes come along like busses …
I looked, searched and waited and was lucky enough to find a much loved one for sale. Hope you find what you’re after too.

    Take care and good hunting

    Christian.
