Hi,
Re-introducing myself (but not necessarily my dormobile!). I had never owned a landrover, but driven and worked with them on farms over hear and in Newzealand and cattle stations in Australia in my youth. Always wanted one one of my own and also wanted a camper van. Then I saw a landrover Dormobile and I was hooked. I joined the club last year primarely to gain information about landrover dormobiles and start searching.
I was lucky enough to open the July/August digest as soon as it came through the post (I normally save it and take it to work). To cut a long story short, I am now lucky enough to be the proud owner of Dernford & Jeanette’s ‘Geraldine’ for those of you who know her. I have to thank them so much for their patience, especially as they had lots of other interest. I drove Geraldine the 320 miles (8hrs +) home to Penrith in Cumbria. I found it harder than she did. Since then we have pottered around the northern lake district on picnics with the family and a couple of overnights with my 4yr old son and I drive to work sometimes (he has nicknamed her clanky. I suspect my wife put him up to it, but they both deny it….).
We are expecting our third child soon, so don’t know how active I will be this coming year. She will get used lots though, as my two children’s favourite snack time treat is to have it in Geralding. I hope to get out and see and be seen in the future though.
