Awnings for CA?

Hi,
I saw a photo in a book of a Bedford CA with an awning attatched to the rear doors, and I have a few questions about this:

1. Where these awnings made specifically for the CA?
2. Has anyone here ever had one or used one?
3. Is it still possible to buy them?
4. If not, does anyone have an old one that I can take measurements from?

I like the idea of having a porch area out the back. Has anyone here ever made an awning by adapting current ones available?

Hi Martin, welcome to the forum, Dormobile did offer awnings as accessories to their vehicle, I doubt you will be able to find an original today, however you might want to look at caranex http://www.caranex.co.uk/, I’m sure they will do something which would fit.

Hi

I have a large original Dormobile awning that I don’t use. It needs some repairs. Some years ago I was quoted £40.00 for a camping store to repair it. If I remember correctly some of the poles have been replaced and were not quite correct. I’m sure they could be sorted by a good camping store. Generally the canvas is in very good condition as this was, as far as I know, supplied in 1965. I live in East London close to the start of the M11 motorway.
