Hi any Dormobile owner in Scotland?

The 14th August we are going to Aberdeen in Scotland to pick up Dora we just bough it.
We need to are in France late 1st September so we want to spend 2 weeks in Scotland.
Tell me what is interesting to do. (we have 2 kids 2 years and 7 years)
    The weather during this period?
What the usual and tradition about camping?

    Thanks about your help. 😉

This site lists the mainstream events, just search by region or type of event you wish to see and plan route accordingly or select from the themes of interest on the bottom of the page and do a mix and match tour.

Weather in August can be variable, best always to presume the worst and take wet weather clothes and boots.

Campsites are plentiful, advance booking to avoid disappointment is not usually required. My personal experience with the Dormobile on sites are the wardens usually find a corner as the pitch required is so much smaller than nomal tuggers or M/homers.

I’m sure Malcolm can give you directions to Alford which is not too far from Aberdeen for a first short journey to get used to driving on the other side of the road and no motorways to deal with on a first drive, then you have the choice of Donside/Strathspey/Perthshire routes to follow.

I just appreciate the simplicity of them as a base vehicle and the functionality without having to worry about an array of complex electronics which the modern motorhomes have. I rarely use sites preferring to wild-camp which suits my idea of relaxing, which includes being as far away from computers and technology as possible. Plus we can get to places the bigger vehicles are unable to reach or the owners are unwilling to attempt to get to.

Enjoy yours when you finally get behind the wheel.
