There have been 30 views of my fisrt mesage , does nobody need any? If there is any demand I will fund the tooling at my cost of around £1000 as Ineed some for my van , but as I only have 2 resposes it will not be viable. If you may be interested PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE .
Thanks JImNovember 8, 2008 at 5:01 pm #1901Hi Jim
Sounds like a good idea but to be sure we need a bit more information about what exactly you mean. Do you have a drawing, a close-up photo and some dimensions?
I have a 1966 Workobus and have been trying to find the original beading with blue rubber piping for months now. We have given up and I am in the process of applying a bright aluminium strip instead, with a vinyl blue bead on top to simulate the blue piping.
Is this the beading you mean? If it is the right one I would be interested, even though that would mean removing the beading now being added.

That is what I am talking about. It is like a D moulding with a slot in the middle to take to colourd plastic filler to cover the fixings.
The aly strip covering the fibreglass has a small lip on the back to cover the raw fibreglass edge ,while on the front doors and front wings it is the same but no lip.
To produce both mouldings would need two dies ,which would be double the cost ,so I think it would be better to just prodoce the lipped and file the lip off for the doors and wings.
By the way the filler strip is available in many colours.
Thanks for replying Jim.November 8, 2008 at 6:09 pm #1903Could you measure the strip width and publish it here, for sake of comparison? Best of all with a scan of the drawings or a photo of the strip?
How long would it be before the strip would be available?November 8, 2008 at 6:24 pm #1904Hi Colin
I don’t have the drawings .they are with the supplier but I hope he will let me have them if he will not produce it.
The approx mes are 11.5 mm overall width and the width of the centre filler slot 5.4 mm
Regards JimNovember 9, 2008 at 9:26 pm #1905Sounds like just what I need. My Bedford CA restoration is virtually finished; indeed, I was planning to get the side strips on next week.
How long will it take you to produce the strips if you go ahead? I need to know if it’s feasible and whether I should hang on for yours for a month or two.

I will Know more in the next couple of weeks.I am trying to get the supplier to fund this but it appears that demand is low.
If it does go ahead it will only take about 3 weeks.
I will keep you posted. Jim -
