i have recently taken the front of my ca to pieces to get the engine out. in the process i a) noticed the wiring was in bad condition and had been previously repaired quite badly and b) sort of ripped it all out in a mad frenzy to get the front pannel off.
does anyone know if it is possible to pick up a new loom for a reasonable price?
or has anyone rebuilt one? cant imagine its too difficult. but some plans or tips would be very much appreciated
cheers!
will

That’s the only way to learn, as you say, it can’t be that hard, as there are only a few wires. I don’t think I’d be forking out £125 or more before I’d had a go at repairing mine first. I did however repair the rear part of mine over the Christmas. Each time I would put the lights on, only one would come on, and it was like a guessing game as to which one it was.. 😆
All fixed now though. Good luck with yours. 😀
February 1, 2011 at 11:39 pm #3717hi all
i agree with you Gary .my loom had been chewed up behind the dash and under the bonnet by mice or something larger
not being tight as i spent a lot of money on my van i repaired the loom when i got into it it was not that hard to repair
i thing it harder to replace the loom

what format is the wiring diagram in?
February 6, 2011 at 11:17 am #3719Well worth replacing the loom if you can get one. I managed to get hold of one from Adrian Bailey classics, but I think it was the last one he had. Might be worth a try though. Contact details on my website.
February 6, 2011 at 5:01 pm #3720hi a4 paper size , might lean how to scan and post ! i give it a try cheers
February 9, 2011 at 10:20 pm #3721There are wiring diagrams in the manual that was scanned by Colin (he’s a forum member) http://www.bedford-ca.com/Bedford%20CA%20Manual.pdf. (58mb download). The wiring diagrams are on pages 22, 23, 24. It’s not accurate for my van though (mine’s a much later model and the wire colours are different for a start).
There is a different diagram in the Autobooks manual that was very kindly given to me by Bigwull02 but again, that is slightly different to the wiring in my van – I’ll scan that for you sometime soon (sorry – too stiff from circuit training to do it right now).
Would be interesting to see if Cube’s version differs again.
February 11, 2011 at 12:19 am #3722From the Autobooks manual (I assume you want the petrol version)
