Hi. I need new tyres for a Bedford CA dormobile. Anybody got any suggestions on which make are best

Hi

When I had my Bedford CA restored, I wanted to stick with crossplies for originality, but the garage recommended radials for better handling.

They have fitted Macmiller radials which have an almost crossply look and suit the van very nicely. I’ve driven it quite a lot since the restoration and I’ve been very happy with these.
The size as designation is 175 R13C 8PR (see photo below)

I too have fitted these maxmiler tyres they are made by GTRadial Tyres. They are 195 15inch as mine is an earlier model and the diameter pretty much matches the original 16 inch tyre. Heaps of tread and reasonably priced

you do need a tyre that is rated for a van not a car
as the side wall is stronger
if you use a car tyre you will find that
the wall will flex lots and you might get the rim curshing the side wall
and it will split the side wall
