The rubber thingies that hold the roof down on the Dormobile I have just acquired seem to be broken/perished.

Are these a special Dormobile part and/or are they a standard fitting?

      Hi Roger

      Have a look here:

Hope you are having fun with your new toy! The rubber hold-downs were used widely on competition cars of the 60s/70s to close bonnet/boot lids. I should think an auto accessory shop should be able to source them for you.

Say ‘Hello’ to Tassie for me – I used to live in Launceston!

      Cheers

      Hi!

Try EBAY there is a pair of new ones @£5.50 + postage.
Seem to be a standard product for Dormobile pop-up roofs.
      Look under `popup roof`

      Regards

Thank you all for your advice

I think I like the idea of a positive lock with stainless steel better than rubber, and have found some on local ebay for a reasonable price. If this is an acceptable solution in terms of originality, I think I’ll go with it.

Tony – Tassie is having beautiful, clear, frosty winter days right now. I’ll post some pics of the new Dormobile against local scenery for you when I get it home.

        Only 14 sleeps to go!

        Cheers all

        Roger
