Solar Trickle Chargers

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone uses one of the small solar powered trickle chargers that you can buy now days, to keep the battery in your van topped up?

I was thinking if getting one as it’s quite a smart idea, however I have no experience of solar power or how I would set it up or if it would be tricky to use.
I would be very gratfeul if anyone had any knowledge on the subject if they could share it with me. If it would work with my Bedford I would certainly be tempted to get one for the car batt and one for a leisure battery too.

I know someone who uses one to keep his car battery topped up when he leaves it in Greece , and it works but they do have a little more sun than us ! I have thought of getting one , Maplins do them for £13 ( about th same price as Ebay ) .I will let you know how I get on.

Hi- My old folks have a modern (ugh) very plush van and have a couple mounted on the roof, though my brother in law has a ‘brieffcase’ affair for his caravan which seems to do the job (dont park under trees) Ill get details when I next see them though my folks are in europe RASKIs (Retired And Spending Kid’s Inheritance) good on’em!
