    Hi,

I am missing one of the rubbers from the roof rack’s feet for my CA so I am planning on casting another for it. Seeing as I will me making the mould I was wondering if anyone else might be indeed of these rubber feet? If so then once I’ve cast my one I would be happy to cast some more for anyone else who might need them. Shouldn’t be hard and the cost will be very minimal to you, just postage and small price of some rubber.

    Let me know,
    Martin.

Hi Martin, I’ll be looking for a full set shortly, are these still available, and have you a price in mind, including postage within the UK please.

      Regards, Gary (Bedford CA)

      Hi Gary,

Thanks for your interest. I’m not sure if I will be making a full set as I think each rubber foot differs….I’m not sure about that, so if you can let me know otherwise, or if I find out that they are all the same I will let you know. I had a feeling they were slightly different due to the slope of the roof and the position they site in in relation to the roof rack.

If they are not all the same then I could probably make up each one individually from my own for you if you would still be interested? I’m not sure on the cost, however I don’t believe it would be too much, I can get back to you about it when I know about how much the rubber material will cost me.

Let me know if you’re still interested.

      Thanks,
      Martin.

Well spotted, I didn’t even realise you could get these!

I’ve been trying to PM you some links to photos of my van that’s online but with no joy, so I’ll paste the message into here instead:

We got the van MOTd, taxed and on the road by Sept in time for our wedding. However as you can see from one of the photos when it is in a field there is a tarp over the windscreen, this is becuase we found that it leaks. Ordered a new rubber, took the old one out, repaired the sill, put the new one back in, but there is stil a tiny leak, so will fill it with mastic to remove any chance of water running through it.

Other bits and bobs I’ve done since Sept is tighten up the gear linkage so that it is easier to change gear (previously the gear stick would wobble all over the place, very sloppy, nice and tight now though). There is still the inside we are planning on customising, and a lot of the rubbers are going back on now. Infact you may be able to help me…..I found in my box of bits an long flat rubber, along with a bit of metal that would screw/bolt down over half of the rubber. I had put a sticker on them saying “driver’s side door rubber”, however now I can’t figure out where it fits! I would be very grateful if you could have a look around your driver’s side door and let me know where you have rubbers/draft excluders.

Also is that a video of your van on Vimeo?

Hi Martin, Dave is correct, the trim & rubber fits along the top of the outside of the door. You should have four screws to go with it 😀 to fit it in place.

Yes, that’s my van on the video. My son took it the day after I bought it. I’m not at home at the minute, but when I return, I’ll post some photo’s of my resto.
Great photo’s by the way, thank you for sharing them with us.

Your van didn’t look in too bad condition before you got working on it?
