i’m recently having problems restarting my ’72 type 2. After stopping for petrol it refuses to start but after a 20 minute rest it starts with no difficulty and drives fine until i stop the engine when it refuses again. When left overnight it has no starting problems, it only has the starting problem when it has been running. help, has anybody any ideas?
Hi Ian, sounds like fuel evaporation from the carb, early mini’s suffer from this, the hot engine causes the fuel to evaporate from the carb, leaving it empty when you need to restart it. I’m afraid I’ve never had to solve this problem myself so can’t advise a fix.
