Hi,
I just got a 1968 CA Romany and I was trying to fold down the front and passenger seats to make the double bed. However I can’t seem to figure out how to get the front passenger seat to slide across to close the gap between it and the driver’s seat. All the other seats fold down and push in fine, and I thought the passenger one was supposed to as well, but maybe I have that wrong?I would be very grateful for any knowledge on the topic, or the solution on how to get the passenger side seat across. I hope I have been clear in my explanation.
Thanks!

Have fun and hope this helps

June 27, 2007 at 7:13 pm #1417I’ve taken out the chairs to lay a new carpet and I see the pull rod, I think I just need some form of lubrication on the mechanism!
I see that you are in Wivenhoe Dan? I spent a lot of my youth there, and although I currently live in London, my CA is in Mersea whilst it is being made road worthy.
I’m taking it you have a dormobile? Got any spare bits? 🙂 I’m not sure what I need yet, but you may hear from me again if you do!
Thanks for the help with the chair.

June 28, 2007 at 10:09 am #1418MBanks, you say your CA is in mersea, is it being done by a garage?
If so could you could you give me their contact details? Dear old Florence is looking decidedly tired these days, but having little time these days, need to get stuff done on her
with regards

June 28, 2007 at 7:23 pm #1419Hi Dan,
The van isn’t being done by a garage, myself, my girlfriend and my dad are all working on it when we have the time. It is being stored at my grandma’s under a make shift carport. Luckily there isn’t a huge amount to do to it, I hope, unless anything unforeseen arises! How long have you had Florence? This is our first CA and we are very excited about getting it on the road!

June 29, 2007 at 11:38 am #1420Wwe’ve had her about a year now, and she is our first, do get some help from the previous owner of her, but it is the time that is the problem. She’s great fun when she goes tho!
If i can be of help with anything, let me know

June 29, 2007 at 8:11 pm #1421Wow, love the picture. Have yet to get any of ours online yet, although we are hoping to make a blog of the restoration of it.
Currently we have the engine running, and before it’s road worthy we need to do some welding on the drivers and passenger footwells (nothing too major), and hopefully get some more runners made for the doors so they run smoothly as the old ones were very corroded!
We can’t wait to get it on the road and start using it!
Martin.
