Having carefully cleaned and dried the roof canopy inside and out before parking the vehicle up for two months was very surprised at the amount of mildew (black mould spots) which had developed over this short time on the inside and outside. My grandson has asthma, so for this reason is unable to accompany me on any trips which was one reason amongst others for getting the vehicle.
It is not parked under or near any trees, and during the rebuild have been particularly careful to ensure no obvious leaks in the fibreglass or ill-fitting roof fixings allowing ingress of water by judicious use of the garden hose.Have also tried spraying the roof with fluroscene dye mixed with water in attempt to detect any leak paths to no avail, just ended up with a green tint to my complexion for a couple of days so is not to be recommended.
Is anyone else having problems similar to this or had them and found a solution or the source of problem?
Have tried the humidity dessicant pouches sold in caravan stores to no obvious effect and now considering a chemical approach, but concerned that this will just mask the problem rather than cure it.
