Land Rover IIA Dormobile into III?

Hello,

Will the Dormobile seats from a 4-cylinder Series IIA Land Rover (3 seats up front) fit into a 6-cylinder Series III? III’s usually had 2 Dormobile seats up front, and I’m wondering if the reason was because the bench didn’t fit?

6 cyl 2a Land Rovers were fitted with the same seats as the 4 cyl and as the Series 3 seatbox and body is the same as the 2a, I cannot see why the seats would not fit??

I have a 6 cyl 2a Dormobile

Hi Mick,
Thanks, I had read that the 6 cyl. engine is 4″ longer and wasn’t sure if there was a “fit” reason they switched to 2 seats in front. My overdrive lever has to be engaged for the seats to fold down in the 4-cyl IIA and there’s barely enough room (very cleverly optimized setup from Martin Walter).
