My name is Garry and I’ve been researching dormobiles on your forum.I was lucky to find a series 2a 1969 6cyl build #45156.9.626 engine is now holden 6cyl 3.3L. The chassis, firewall, and 5 doors were fully rusted out.I needed a donor vehicle, found a series 3 locally 50km away witch was rust free in chassis and firewall, however the doors needed sections welded in.Shame about not being original anymore but its out there being used.Jobs left to do include new springs, gear box.I have taken landy camping and fishing several times and is the perfect vehicle for this.will post pics having trouble 1 pic says file to big.
August 6, 2015 at 10:33 pm #5290Hi Garry
Sorry we have all been slow to reply. Dormobiles are rare here, so you have definitely been lucky finding one in OZ. We love ours and have had loads of great trip. Would love to see some pictures. I normally use http://www.irfanview.com/ to resize my images down to 800 x 600.
Keep us informed how you get on.
Here’s ours when we found her in 2007.

Camping in Yorkshire last year.

September 21, 2015 at 12:43 pm #5293Hi Garry, Haven’t been on here for awhile so a belated welcome from me 🙂 Looks like you’ve done a good job on the restoration too. I must ask if you are going to put the sill panels back on below the doors ?? If not I know someone who needs a pair of those 🙄
Forgot to add that I’m about 50 kilometres north of Brisbane !!
October 12, 2015 at 1:21 am #5294Gday jerryd, Yes your mate can have them! freight might change his mind tho. 😯
October 12, 2015 at 12:44 pm #5295It’s me that’s after a set of the deep sills 😀 Postage would be to Qld 4521 if you could get a quote sometime. I’d imagine they’d be fairly light being made of aluminium 😕
