Hi Everyone. Time to show my head above the parapet! I finally acquired my very own Land Rover Dormobile three weeks ago. She’s a 1969 Series 2A. I collected her from Elgin and drove as far as Drumnadrochit before stopping for the night; continued sedately home the following day. I’m a field archaeologist working part-time throughout Argyll and the Isles, so lots of ferry journeys – great to just be able to stop for the night and be completely self-contained, as well as having better shelter than a tent from the dastardly midges.
We also have a 1972 “not-going-anywhere” landy dormobile sitting at the end of the garden. (Knackered engine and disintegrating chassis.) We bought that one in 1984 and for years travelled on holiday all over the UK with our two daughters and two lurchers – husband was a marine engineer in the Merchant Navy, so when he got home on leave we could just pack up and go without any hassles. I think now I may have the courage to take that one to pieces and see if it can be rebuilt.

      Hi and welcome.

Lots of Dormobiles in Scotland I believe. My latest came from there as well.

Some pictures would be very well appreciated
