Hi, this is my first posting on the forum!
I have owned a 1962 CA Romany for a few years now and I am currently restoring it. I started to resort it a while back by unfortunately other projects and commitments meant it when on the back burner. However, the project has been restarted and I have spent the last 2 months working on her, mainly fabricating and welding new rear arches and repairing some rot in the back section. Also cleaned, primed and painted chassis and overhauled the rear axle and suspension.

The van has quite an interesting history – it was bought new by great uncle back in 1962 and was only ever used for weekend trips and short holidays all over Britain, although it has been to Australia when they went there for a few months. The van still has the Australia motor department sticker on the side window when it was loaded on the ship. I have some photos of it in the dock waiting to be loaded and some of it in Australia.

I will need to post up some photos of the restoration at sometime.

Hi Duncan, welcome to the forum. I’ve only had my 1969 van a year, and love it, although I’m still in the process of restoring it. I have been out in a few times this year in it’s primer, but I intend to have it all finished for next summer.
Unlike yours, the only history I have about my van is that I’m it’s second owner and it stood in a garage for 20 years.
