[attachment=0:hbps44fy]aa 132.jpg[/attachment:hbps44fy] Has anyone else found a similar ‘modification’?
Someone at Martin Walker circa ’59/ ’60 incorrectly cut out the blank for one of ‘Gerties’ rear windows. The offending panel was then rewelded and ‘made good’ with filler, primer and original topcoat!! I’m finding similar oddities throughout her, random screws and offcuts of wood, scribbled bits of paper, all BEHIND factory fitted panels. is the build quality always this haphazard? I guess it adds a certain charm……… 😆

I can’t say I found anything like that on my van Andy, but we haven’t got to forget that these vans were all hand made conversions, so I would imagine no two will be the exact same. 😀

“a miracle of British design, although much let down by slipshod British execution — screws missing, bad wood-planing…” Anthony Burgess.

Where did you find that quote? Rings true though……
