dealing with peter dobbs

hi I won a bedford item from 1967ca peter dobbs on ebay the item was damaged in the post (badly packaged )so contacted peter who said to send back the item and he would claim from the post office , then change his mind ,said it would take too long and offered only the cost of item first. and no postage cost which i rejected and then said i had damaged the item and to take him to court if i did not except his offer, has anyone had any dealing with peter and is this normal for him ?
Erm – No – I have known Peter Personally for years, and this is not like him at all. He is approaching 80 years old now, and perhaps he was having an off day – not knowing the circumstances of your claim – maybe use the ebay (and paypal resolution service)
hi ebay have now sorted the money out ,but the dealing with peter dobbs has left me thinking all because someone has 100% postive feed back you should be carefull when returning an item because if they change there mind like he has done and accuse you of the damage you are left with no other action but ask if anyone has had the same problem ?
