Dear all
I have just bought a lovely 1969 ca, I wanted to get a cover for it as I don’t have a garage but so far have only managed to source VW ones, does any one know of a good fitting cover for the bedford Ca? Also the floor lino needs replacing I would love to get the original colour again, any advice on suppliers would be great , its my first classic camper so I am a bit green
thanks JeramayDecember 17, 2009 at 9:05 am #2792Hi Jeramay, welcome to the forum, sorry I cannot help with your questions, but I myself, am in the market for a new floor covering, so I’ll be watching your thread with great anticipation. Good luck with your van, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Dormobile experience. 😀

cover systems tel 01933 410851 they or breathable covers the van will not sweat underneath the cover if they have not got one in stock they will mack one for you. and as for the floor covering you will not get the same pattern. i got some cushion flooring picked a small pattern not the big mod on squares and it worked for me as i tried my best to keep my van original
hope this helps dave glanfieldDecember 18, 2009 at 2:49 pm #2794Thanks for the welcome and the info i will check out the cover people cheers jeramay
January 7, 2010 at 6:03 pm #2795Hi Jeramay,
I use a caravan cover for my bedford, these are typically cheaper (you always pay a mark up for VW gear!) and bigger, I brought a cover similar to the one below, 4 ply, soft inner, waterproof and breathable, plus 2 large side zips so you can peel off one side to work! (or slide the door back) I will warn you that they are a lot bigger than one (Made to measure) but this means you can really tuck the cover under your bus an protect everything! not bad for £50.
its my experience with all these covers (even the expensive ones) that they only have a limited life, the UK climate does tend to eat fabric, so expect to replace it in 2/3 years time depending on the weather.
Oh please keep the forum informed if you manage to track down appropiate lino, I need to sort mine out, it has some horrible 80’s checker on it at the moment, mind you that is hiding the original green lino that could only be described as Mold!

January 9, 2010 at 11:24 am #2797HI Phil thanks for cover tip, yes £50 sounds good, as far as the lino goes there is a vauxhall trimmer called eroll who has just moved premises so is a bit hard to get hold of but is currently based Unit 507 Henley Park, Pirbright Road NORMANDY, Guildford, Surrey GU3 2AF

This was his email but Email but not sure if current classic_vauxhall@btopenworld.com
if you can get hold of him he is the man with the knowledge, I am still at the engine and gear box stage but will be tracking him down as soon as the van is mobile again
