I am Currently completing a full chassis restoration and it is due to have an MOT in the next few weeks or so. Restoration has so far includes all new brake linings, all new wheel cylinders, new Master cylinder, copper pipes, resurfaced brake drums etc. It has had new suspension bushes where required and will have new drop links fitted shortly. It has had a new gearbox rear oil seal. I have done no welding on the Camper as it is not required for the MOT. There has been repairs to the front floors over the years and these have lasted well and do not need attention. The rear floor is new wood. The bodywork is rust free but it is hand painted. The paint has split in places and some is peeling where it has been exposed to the sun this year as it was in long term storage for many years. The body will need rubbing down to repaint. The Camper is being sold with a spare 3 speed gearbox, spare distributor, front windscreen and some other bits and bobs. The interior was completely absent when I bought it and I have sourced a full replacement set of folding seats front and rear and supplied with the Camper is interior parts removed from a Dormobile Debonair including the sink and larger cooker which could be used to fabricate a replica porthole interior using genuine Martin Walter wood and surfaces. The pop up roof is in good condition and is in its original raw fibreglass finish which I dont like and was going to paint. The bunks are there and work and the fabric is intact along with the side roof fabric although there are some small holes that could be repaired. The Camper is fitted with a towbar but no hitch or electrics. The Camper is also supplied with early wheels and hubcaps and also the rear wheel spats which were removed for safe keeping. This Camper is a very sound and mechanicaly original vehicle but also a blank canvas to make your mark. The price I am asking for is £4000 or very near offer as this is less than half the price of a fully restored and original example and much far less than a split screen VW or even a bay window. This vehicle can be an excellent investment for the right person as with an additional outlay to paint and a small amount of work to build the interior can be enjoyed and if sold will give a healthy return.
