Hi- just wondering if anyone knows if OCW 351 P (Land cruiser) is still on the road or in existence? It was the vehicle my dad took the family to Iceland in 25 years ago and he’s just uncovered some of the pics of it being lifted by crane onto the trawler ferry! Id love to forward copies to the new owner when I get the copies, and would love to know she’s still going strong!

If you can scan the pics and post them here I’m sure I’m not the only one who’d like to see them.

Forgot to add captions!
1. Thats Vatnajokul Glacier in the background- the largest in Iceland… no, we hadn’t just driven across it!
2. The Smyril Line Ferry leaving Seydisfordur- start and end point of the Icelandic stage!
3. Getting hoisted aboard a ‘Ferry’ (Trawler actually)- The Land Cruiser was put on one of the Stowage hatches- the only bit of deck big enough! This was going from the Orkney Is to the Shetland Isles.

Unfortunately the photos have faded over time- it took hours of photoshopping to rescue these!

Just been browsing around the net and thought I’d give the Dormobile site the once over. I have owned two dormobiles in the past. But this thread really caught my eye.

I don’t know the whereabouts of OCW351P now, but I owned it between 1993 and 1995 ! I was a member of the DOC at the time (106) I bought the Landcruiser from a garage near Harrogate (where I lived at the time) and the Garage owner had bought it from someone in Pateley Bridge who had let it stand for a year or 2 causing the front end to rot away quite badly.

The garage owner ‘restored’ it with CF2 parts which made it quite unique – they also resprayed and made the stripe blue.

Thought you may like to see some picsOCW351Pcf2a.jpg[/attachment:2kbahuxf]OCW351Pcf2b.jpg[/attachment:2kbahuxf]Inside1.jpg[/attachment:2kbahuxf]Inside2.jpg[/attachment:2kbahuxf]Inside3.jpg[/attachment:2kbahuxf]

I replaced the original fibreglass sink with a Stainless steel one, modified the kitchen unit to put a calor oven in place of the 2 burner and grill and put in a double passenger seat up front, so that all 3 of us could travel up front.

I sold it to someone in Knaresborough and saw it for sale in Keighley a few years after….

Well, thanks everyone for the details! It would be fascinating to know everyone who owned it, where it went and so on!
I hope its not gone to the scrapyard in the sky- perhaps its been secreted away since 2002?
Regards
