March 13, 2008 at 6:38 am #1569Hi all!
I’m the lucky(?!) new owner of this van. As stated in the advert text it’s very original albeit quite tatty. Having said that there’s no major bodywork other than a tidy up and a respray needed at some point. First order of the day is to get it running and mot’d.
I don’t think there can be many CA’s left of this vintage.
Here’s a few ‘now’ pics;

May 14, 2008 at 7:42 am #1572I have a 1968 CA Romany. My partner and I have been fixing up the bodywork and rust for the last year (although we’ve had a lot of time that we haven’t been able to work on it!). It’s coming together now, nearly there! Looking a bit “shabby” due to the red oxide paint and having removed the fittings, but hopefully should be on the road soon, and then we’ll work in the interior and body work in time!
We have pictures up of the work going on on the site Facebook. I can email links to people if they are intested. PM me if you are 🙂

February 9, 2009 at 9:29 pm #1573Hi, I thought you might be interested in my 1959 CA Dormobile. I bought it last year and am doing some prep work on getting it back on th road. Its in pretty good shape and needs work on the brakes and front steering. The big job is completely renewing the interior and a slight body refirbish hopefully in time for the summer.
I am only the third owner and it spend all of its life in the Manchester and North wales areas.
February 9, 2009 at 9:42 pm #1574Very nice, hope to see it at one of he club meetings this summer!! 😀

February 10, 2009 at 11:51 pm #1576Hi,
Having no clue where to source wheel cylinders will not prevent me from admiring the pictures of your lovely Bedford, I do like the colours, are these original colours?
Kind regards,

Have you tried those people? 🙄
February 11, 2009 at 2:44 pm #1578The colours are original I think judging by the amount of older or similiar aged vans of similiar colours and arrangement. The interior is a mixture of Bedford grey and cream which I think covers the grey.
What “those people” do you mean – gave collectors car spares a go? they havent had them for a while and dont see when they will have any again…. 🙁

If you click on “those people” you’ll find it’s a link.
February 11, 2009 at 3:02 pm #1580Oh yeah, amazing lol 🙄 😉
February 11, 2009 at 3:11 pm #1581Yeah, they dont have the front ones either, just the rear. These cylinders are like rocking horse doo dar, and you cannot easily convert to the later Girling cylinders without a donor and you also have to modify the chassis arm that the master cylinder bolts to! 😡
I have heard that E type Vauxhall’s such as the wyvern and velow have the same cylinders, but as I am using the same part number im still not having any luck….Thanks for the link BTW
