Unless you specifically want to go with FJ for cost reasons etc and having an inkling of what you may wish to do in the future then it might be worth giving the NFU a ring.
I have Bea with them for the much enhanced cover they provide including enhanced cover for the Continent and Africa at no extra cost. You will find that FJ and many other so called Land Rover or Classic Car specialists will not provide a Green Card for Morocco, the NFU is one of very few insurers that still do.
The benefits of having insurance in place before crossing into Africa cannot be understated, gettin insurance in country is often difficult and not now routinely available at the entry border crossings, if you manage to blag your way through on the promise of getting insurance in the first big town you arrive at it will be difficult to find, expensive and of questionable use, travelling without the piece of paper will make you very vulnerable to ‘fines’ at the regular roadside police checks, not to mention the consequences of injury or damage to a local without even nominal cover which will see all parties locked up in the local police station for a few days whilst it is all sorted out.
Having proper cover from a reputable insurer brings a lot of piece of mind on Moroccan roads!
