I’m definitely up for popping over to Chamonix or other Western Alp town over a weekend in late July. My wife speaks some french and wants to go to Provence, so it might become our main summer vacation.
I can’t commit to a meet in the Autumn. If it’s nice weather, the Alps are the place to be. If it happens to be cold and rainy already, I’d prefer to head south to the last rays of sun before winter.
The Dormobile is officially roadworthy again, with a new cylinder head and new paint! The exhaustive test was on the road to the Rosenlaui glacier, 14km of switchbacks at 10% grade, with the whole family aboard. Yes, I know that taking your family with you on the test drive is a sure way to cause it to break down, but this time the car held together.
