Me being new to this van as well as yourself Martin, I cannot give you any advice on the engines, but what I can tell you, is that it may not be a head gasket or condensation, it could be a core plug on the side of the engine.

When I bough mine, I had to replace the radiator as the van had been standing in a lock up for more than 20 years. The radiator core was totally blocked and had to have a new one. When I pulled it outside, there was water dripping from the side of the engine. This turned out to be a core plug just behing the starter motor.
