    EDIT:

I looked at the ad on the website. It has 4 headlights so either the front panel or the wings aren’t original but you probably knew that. I can’t tell with my experience what I’m looking at; later model with earlier front panel or early model with later wings.

It’s important in dating a land rover chassis number to know the letter at the end. I’ve also never heard of an engine suffix “P” but I don’t know a lot about engines. I only know what’s stamped on my engines and what I read on the www … 😉

The S2 forum in England has really enthusiastic and knowledgeable folk when it comes to Series 2’s and 2a’s. Try this:

My Dormobile is complete up to some luxury items I think it used to have, but its original Martin Walter plate has been transferred to a same-year chassis that we could not find records of ever having been sent to Martin Walter. No one who is less curious than me would have been able to tell. You might say I have an “original” Dormobile but an un-original Land Rover under it! Therefore the presence (or not-) of Martin Walter gear and ID plates might not mean anything more than you choose it to mean. (By the way, I hope I can still stay in the club!!)
