    hi marc,
i haven’t read the whole thread, and i didn’t get any help translating it so i hope i understood!? i just did this job on both sides so it’s fresh in my mind. it’s not at all as bad as some people say. maybe the hardest part is taking out the wardrobe (and putting it back in)!

to remove the screws in the channel (“petites vis à tête fraisées”: 4x on top and 3x on the bottom, 2x on the vertical sections, per channel. 18 total) i could get most of them with a long screwdriver (slotted == flat). on the stubborn ones i used my Dremel tool with a cutting disc to cut off the head, then penetrating oil and vice-grips (“mole grips”) to remove the rest of the screw. i got them all out. if you are lucky, the old channels come out and you can mark the holes in the new ones by using the old ones as a pattern. actually i think it would be easier to drill new holes in the new channels than to try to match the original holes exactly, but if you take your time you can drill the new channels exactly as the old ones. don’t forget that you’ll need dumdum putty for the ends of the new channel on the bottom.

i found 10 or 12 nests of mud wasps under the channels on one side, and some trim hardware and screws under the other one.

    have fun!
