our main awning is a brownchurch awning that is made of traditional canvas (not nylon) it fits the full lenght of the roof and has 3 sides and windows.. it’s very traditional in a ‘bright green’ colour that is definitly ‘canvas’!
Its very strong and easy to put up. we use this all the time (about 2 days a month) and love the extra space and shelter it gives – we had christmas dinner in it out on Dartmoore one year – in the wind and rain – very warm and comfortable it was to!
We’ve just bought a Khyam ‘porch awning’ that goes over the back which is very quick to put up as all the poles are fitted like a brolly! only cost £70 as well! it gives us enougth space to cook with the back door open, sit and eat whist protected from the elemets… we think it ‘s well worth the money .
and if we really want to go mad we’ve got an enormous ‘auto-haven’ erection that we sometimes fit on the back – but it’s very big and fiddly to put up for just one day.. we’ve only used it a few times but found the space useful.(simmilar to one in the middle photo from Phil above)
