hi ive recentley bought a austin morris j4 camper van 1973 1622cc petrol ,since buying the vehicle ive stripped the van and am currently giving her a full resto ready for spring ,if anyone owns a j4 or knows of any clubs please get in touch just need a few bits to complete her

hi, is the picture the one your doing up?? im new to this scene and am looking soon for a j4 or a bedford ca. i have recently left the triumph dolomite scene. its been hard but im nearly there, just got to sell my 1300 that i have owned since 05. it will be sad to see her go, no rust, low mileage etc....very low actually.47000 and shes 1977. i hope i can get what im looking for by talking to people. i have just got myself steady and all that what with the climate change of the global economy. at the moment but im nearly there. the dormobile, ca or j4, may have to be a autumn purchase.

Hi,
I have a J4 petrol the same as yours.
I have found that (because I have of them too) that most mechainical things are the same as the Austin Cambridge (Morris Oxford),
and NTG (Ipswich), or Earlparts (Derbyshire), are the best.
Done loads of mechanical repairs over the winter: New carb, new exhaust, wrapped inlet manifold in glass cloth, repaired (rebearinged) dynamo, rebuilt both master cylinders, refitted radiator properly, new water pump, new lift pump, new hoses all round. So not much the matter with her really!
